Have you ever done journaling?

Spoiler: I have never done it.

I watch a lot of videos that speak about all the good things that journalizing brings to you.

In January I wanted to start this journey, then I started to do it but with video, then I don’t do it anymore.

I put my phone in front of me, I press “record”, and I start to review my last week, with all the ups and downs.

I do one video in 6 months.

Not bad right?

I haven’t yet experienced this. (journaling)

Why am I writing this article?

I’m writing this article because I have this thought inside my head and I must write it down to extrapolate it.

If we try it at least for one month, we can, later, choose one of these options :

  • I’ll continue to journal about my life.
  • No, I will not continue to journal about my life.

Yes, these are the only two options.

Right or left.

Blue pill or red pill.

I watch tons of videos that say that there are a lot of pros and good things about journaling.

This is a list, that I have in my mind:

  • Put your thoughts and emotions on paper, this can let you watch them and emotions from another view.
  • You can watch all your emotions with a clear mind that can let you think about how you can act in that situation better.
  • You can learn from your past with the power to view all your past thoughts and you can see how your days change and evolve.

It can be maybe after a breakup or an important loss, is educating and watching how you avoid that moment (I think).

I have to say now that after 1 or 2 years, I’ll write all my thoughts and experience downs on Medium.

This is all.

Sometimes it is ok to put your thoughts down.

It’s like a self-challenge to read them and see what I can bring with.

TIPS

There are different types of journals:

- “Dream journal” that tracks what you have dreamed.

- One that can help you track what you eat.

- One that helps you track when and where you workout ecc…

You can write how you want and when you want.

There are no rules.

You can write, color, break…0 rules.

You can write with your computer or with your hands, there aren’t rules that say that you must write with your hands.

The best that comes to my mind is that we can write our progress and goals.

I have some videos that I recommend you watch to learn more and start a journal (Yeah I will start too).

9 fast tips that can help you in an easy way:

  • Be consistent
  • Pick a nice notebook
  • Start with low expectation
  • You don’t need to write everything
  • Don’t worry if it’s not insightful
  • Add structure with lists and questions
  • Use separate journals
  • Write letters
  • Make a journaling jar

First, the Matt D’avella video, where he tells his thoughts before and after it starts.

Lana Blakely’s video tells about her 17 years journey with her feelings and thoughts.

Nate O’Brien tells us how he uses this method and how it can be a powerful thing.

The Bliss Bean video with the tips that I mentioned before in-depth.

Conclusion

This is the end of the article.

Certain people might find this strange.

But I know that sometimes you have to put what you have in your head on something.

It cannot be very good, this can help you see the thought from another view. (yes I am doing this thing right now)

This is it.

Have a good day, be grateful for what you have, I hope you will start journaling before the end of this year (yes I’ll do it too), bye.

Benedict.
