Naval’s book

I don’t want to talk about his life and his view of the modern world (even if it’s really really interesting…), but I want to dive into this….

What is “Fortune” for him?

Naval and Babak Nivi (the co-founder of his corporation), had a conversation on Twitter and the results are these 4 types…

  • Blind luck: This is pure fortune, something happens that is out of our control.
  • Fortune sprung through perseverance: The hard work pushes us to create opportunities where fortune comes.
  • Luck found thanks to our skill: If you are really good in the field (like influencer marketing) you can start to notice when the fortune will arrive.

So you become sensitive to luck.

  • Last one: Here is an example from the book….“You are the best in the world in scuba diving, by sheer luck someone finds a sunken ship that contains a treasure in a spot he can’t reach.

So his luck becomes yours because he will turn to you to get the treasure and you will be paid to do it.”

To sum up: “build your image in a certain way and your image will become your destiny”.

My vision of every part of them.

  • Blind luck: This is simply sheer luck, but everybody confuses this type with the other.

Me too, before reading this book I knew only 2 types, this and the “Hard work fortune”.

  • Fortune sprung through perseverance: The hard work created this.

“You are successful, it’s just luck”

NO!

If I worked 6 hours a day every day for 3 years, how would you call that a lucky success?

I have no words.

  • Luck found thanks to our skill: Thanks to our knowledge we can begin to see what others don’t see and listen to what others don’t listen to.

Those things can make our luck.

The average person calls that a “lucky boy”.

  • Last one: I think that the Naval words are the same as mine.

One of his tweets about getting lucky….

- Hope luck finds you.

- Give yourself until you run into luck.

- Prepare your mind and be receptive to opportunities that others miss

- Become the best at what you do. Refine what you do until it is perfected. Opportunities will seek you out. Luck will become your destiny.
